MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Hey hey! I’m Sonia, the artist behind the lens at Cheeky Eye Candy Photography! I have been passionate and trigger happy since 2013. Thanks to YOU my work is fulfilling. I have made long lasting friendships and have had plenty of laughs along the way. My favorite is the positive client feedback which reassures me there’s a reason why I love doing what I do. Pinch ME!

Nominated ‘Women of the Year 2023’ for Artist by Scarlett Magazine, now this was mind blowing!

I was born downunder in beautiful Sydney, Australia. I’m happily married to an American soldier whom I met years ago whilst on vacation in paradise….. Hawaii! He thinks I’m a hoarder and I think I just have an AMAZING prop collection lol.. Our son is our pride and joy! I’m addicted to adventure and frequently found at the beach regaining my sanity by the sea. I’m a 3 coffee back to back kinda gal every morning, when the sun goes down I don’t mind chowing down on some tacos with margaritas. I am at my best when I am in my element with incredible people who are silly, passionate, fun and up for anything!

Beyond blessed to be living the life I used to pray for!

My Sessions are held in Niceville, Fort Walton Beach, Destin and surrounding areas of Northwest Florida. My studio in Niceville caters to Newborn, Cake Smash, Watch Me Grow (Milestone sessions for 3,6,9, 12 months + and holiday sessions.

Whether it be that first time you feel a flutter during pregnancy, the first time your newborn smiles, the first time your baby says ‘mamma’ , their 1st birthdays, the time your son comes home and says ” she said YES”, the day you walk your daughter down the aisle. I want to be there for it !

I’m all about having fun at my sessions, turning what could be a serious , nervous situation into an experience you’ll remember , look back on and smile about! I totally have a relaxed approach and very open minded. I’m really fond of the Boho vintage rustic style with a modern twist. I am completely inspired by human connection and photographing the most raw, genuine emotions— messy, ridiculous, and intimate— is the best gift I can ever give!

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN: I entered the photography world years ago on the opposite side of the camera, while doing a shoot with my man on a beach in Hawaii. I had just finally convinced my husband to get our 1st photo shoot together done. I explained to the photographer what posing styles I was looking to achieve, and she said NO client has ever provided her with idea’s before and that I was the 1st. Clients normally leave it in the photographers hands she stated (not this girl he he ) . The photographer emailed me saying ” your photographs belong in a Calvin Klein magazine” and that she got a ton of new bookings after the sneak peeks was posted on Facebook. I was like WOW! AND That’s when the light bulb went off in my head. I want to be a photographer. Soon after I found a Canon 1000 while travelling in Thailand ( this was a BIG sign) I knew right then this was my calling. I began a detailed photography course and upgraded my camera and have been happy living out my dreams ever since! I realize today photography has always been my path, school friends remind me that I used to always make them strike a pose ha ha…So it’s no surprise to them I became a photographer!

Since I was young I found myself drawn to photographs as soon as I enter into someone’s home. Photos for me tell such a great story and opens up memorable conversation. I personally love when people walk into my home and adorable my images displayed on the mantel and walls. I just smile on the inside!

A shoot is an investment in my eye’s, I want to provide you with images that can be passed down from generation to generation. Who’s doesn’t love looking at their grandparents wedding albums or old war photo’s. Your parents or even your own childhood portraits ??!!

Being a photographer is my absolute dream job come true and I feel so incredibly lucky for this opportunity I’ve been given.

I’m happy to chat to anyone that stands still long enough. Email me via the ‘Contact’ tab.

P.S. Thanks for reading this far, as you can see I like to talk! Lots of people say they can listen to me talk all day, cause my Australian accent!
